As much as I would like to,
I cannot give you the moon and the stars,
precious metals or gemstones from afar.
I cannot give you your every whim and delight,
Every dream you might have in sight.
But I can only give you what is in my heart
And that has been yours from the very start.
compassion to gently wipe your tears,
prayers to daily calm your fears.
Encouragement for you to keep reaching,
wisdom and guidance in the form of teaching.
Love deeper than you can ever know,
hope brighter than I can ever show.
I can only give you what is in my heart,
truth and grace that comes from above,
faith and knowledge of God’s abundant love.
I know it seems like such a simple creed
but may it be all you ever need.
