In my post Just Call Me Martha, I shared with you my propensity to be driven by the need to get things done over my ability to sit at Jesus feet and listen. I must admit this is a struggle for me, something I need to wrestle through. And as I think about wrestling, I am reminded of Jacob’s experience with the Lord. I find the way the Jacob’s story of wrestling with the Lord is recounted in Hosea 12:3-6 reminds me of my own struggle.
3In the womb he took his brother by the heel,
And in his maturity he contended with God.
4Yes, he wrestled with the angel and prevailed;
He wept and sought His favor.
He found Him at Bethel
And there He spoke with us,
5 Even the Lord, the God of hosts,
The Lord is His name.
6 Therefore, return to your God,
Observe kindness and justice,
And wait for your God continually.
I wrestle with whether or not what I do is enough. I struggle with comparison; am I living out my walk with God as well as others are? I contend with the Lord more than I ought to probably which makes me keenly aware of His graciousness towards me. I weep seeking His favor and direction for my life, trying to figure out how to make the possibilities I see a reality now. And He reminds me to return my focus to Him, not the accomplishment of completing the goal, and the importance of waiting for His step by step instructions.
If you have known me for any length of time, you know I’m deeply passionate about helping those who have suffered from abuse to find their freedom, identity and purpose. Yet, I often feel as if the opportunities to do so have not presented themself. And so I have been wrestling with God and asking why? His response? I have been trying to reap a harvest where I have failed to plant the seed He has called me to plant. How heartbreaking it is to come face to face with the consequences of one’s own disobedience. Will you pray for me? Please pray that I will be diligent in working on the specific assignment God has given me and that I would not allow it to be pushed to the back burner or over run by distraction. Pray for me that I would be able to balance all things well.
The last few months have been busy and we have seen amazing things happen! A conference at Midwestern University, (so thankful for a leader who invests in his staff), and a merging of hearts at Mobile Missions Network and Church Inside Out. God has blessed us with an amazing campus and add to our church family some incredibly faithful saints from Red Fork Baptist Church.
We also just hosted a Missions Conference and celebrated our merge with a Grand Opening service geared at commissioning a body of believers to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we work to fulfill the Great Commission. Mobile Missions Network is working towards the goal of raising up 3000 missionaries to preach the Gospel in their communities, to plant churches and to proclaim the Lord Jesus Christ around the world. I am excited to see how God moves and empowers us to get this done. Please be praying for God perfect provision to accomplish every task before us. Give to the Cause here.
Personally, in my role as Prayer Coordinator, I have had the privilege of setting up a designated prayer room. I pray it is a space that will be used by many as we seek the Lord and His direction for what we do in service to Him. Especially since God has grown our prayer group!! We now have prayer partners for each of our house churches and a group that meets regularly to pray over the needs of our organization and its’ church members. I am so thankful for the men and women God is raising up for this work.
I have also been blessed with mentoring opportunities, opportunities to help connect others to resources they needed, and opportunities for community networking. Again, please pray for me to balance things well and please pray for God’s financial provision in my life that would allow me to focus my time and efforts more fully on ministry. Give to the Cause here.
Thank you for following my ministry journey, for every precious prayer and for generous gifts. I appreciate you all so much!
Many Blessings,
